Allie - Day 6

Woke up late today, so jumped in for a quick shower and sped off to VBS! Despite the quick wake up, the day went so smoothly. I love love love these kids that come hang out with us, they are so precious. Kaleya was a handful today, as always. We promised her a treat if she behaved the whole day…which she didn’t do…but she got a treat anyway J

Peter did an awesome job teaching, the kids actually listened again! I spent a lot of time chasing after Kaleya, learning her songs that go something like this:

“What’s that? That’s a fish.

What’s that? That’s a fish.

What’s that? That’s a fish!

I love fish.”

Needless to say, I learned an awesome song. Then she taught me some ballerina dance moves. We drew sunflower kittens (whatever those are) with sidewalk chalk, too. We had fun, the kids listened, and as far as I know they are coming back tomorrow!

We ate lunch at the Weston, went back and painted a little bit more, which was tedious but we finished! Good news. After we painted, we went back and showered, then headed to Coral Bay Baptist Church to lead the church service. Worship was awesome tonight; the church worshipped with us instead of us putting on a show for them. I enjoyed it very much. However, this particular church is not air conditioned….so I think some of us in the back almost fell asleep. But not due to John’s sermon, which was awesome as always.

Girl jeep on the way back!! Ah, I love the girl jeep. Me, Holly, Anna, Steph, and Julie jam out to some old school Will Smith, N’sync, Destiny’s Child….you know, the good stuff. We had our usual meeting on the beach, then everyone jumped in the ocean for a night swim. I had to be convinced to dunk under the water, considering it was absolutely freezing in the water…that was such a bad plan. I shivered for most of the time we were in there, but it’s okay, it was an experience J Kyle told us a bedtime story while we were out there, and then we had a group ocean hug, haha. I love this group, we really are a family.

Last day of VBS is tomorrow….I’m sad, yes, but mostly anticipating what opportunities await us.
