Anna - Day 2

Sunday
Today we made it to St. John!! After waking up from a wonderful and much needed night of rest, we left for the airport, checked all of the bags, went through security, and got on the plane to St. Thomas. I sat next to Julie and Holly, and we had a fun time just hanging out. One really cool thing was when Julie asked Holly and I to pray with her about all of the details coming together for the trip. It is so encouraging to know there are people on this trip who know the power of prayer and who strive to pray about all of the things we need. Praying with these girls provided some much need reminders about why we are here and Whom we came to serve.
Things went just fine today, which was a blessing from yesterday… well things got a bit crazy when we got the jeeps and headed to the dock. Lots of crazy things happened, but all that matters is that we made it in time for the worship service at Cruz Bay Baptist and could worship with the church family here. They were so appreciative of us coming here, and it was exciting to see familiar faces. Worship was great- Jeff and I sang our song we’ve been practicing, and it went well; John preached a great sermon; and good fellowship was had. My favorite part was singing our child-friendly song, “Brother Friend” with the church… watching all of the people do the motions and sing along with us was so much fun and such a great tension releaser. The worship service was a great reminder that God has everything under control and planned for us already… we just need to be willing to show up.
I’m excited about the start of VBS tomorrow! We’ve just finished setting up all of the rooms, and everything looks great. I can’t wait to see some of the kids again from last year, and get to hang out with them again. I’m praying that God truly uses what we’ve prepared and worked hard on to bless the kids and families we interact with this week. “Boomerang Express” is such a fun theme, and our really awesome outline of Australia in our younger kids room will be fun to use!
