Today has been the 4th day of VBS. I’ve really enjoyed getting to lead the VBS songs with Holly. “Workin’ On My Serve” was the song for today, and it’s my favorite song, so I was really excited to get to sing it today with the kids. I loved watching all of the kids dance and sing along with us. It’s so much fun to sing at the top of our lungs, praising Jesus, even if the kids we are working with aren’t really thinking of this as worship. I love seeing their joy and happiness as they sing with us. I’m truly blessed to be able to do watch them from the stage and to see each of the kids’ faces as we sing together. I can’t believe tomorrow is our last day of VBS. As tiring as it has been and as frustrating as the kids are at times, I know that I’m going to be really sad to leave and to finish VBS. I truly hope that the kids continue to let God work in their lives and that they continue to look for ways to serve the Lord and share their faith with the people they are around.
Today we had lunch at the Westin to honor our work we are doing in the community. It was fabulous! We had lots and lots of vegetables, which was a blessing. Haha. The food was wonderful and the company was wonderful. I loved lunch, and it was a much needed restful and relaxing time. We finished painting today after lunch. The building really looks great, and it’s exciting to drive by and know that we worked hard to paint it. Holly and I were on brush cleaning service today, which gave us a chance just to talk about the day, which was much needed. I very much enjoy our conversations.
Tonight we led worship at Calvary Baptist at Coral Bay. I truly enjoyed worshipping with the people of this church. They just gave their all during the worship, and it was wonderful to sing and worship with this group of believers. There were lots of cute kids there tonight too, and I now have quite a few more pictures on my camera, taken by a few of the kids. Haha. It was fun just to hang out with them and to laugh with them.
After the worship service, we went to Island Blues, a local bar in Coral Bay for dinner. I got a crab cake sandwich, which was really tasty. It was open mic night at the bar, and Doug was coaxed to play. He ended up singing 4 songs, representing Nashville country singers well! Haha. It was fun to hear him play and to cheer loud for him. Our group was really supportive, which has been a normal thing on this trip. Later we had our meeting on the beach again, and then most of us went for a night swim. We had a great time just hanging out in the water, especially our huge group hug. I’ve truly enjoyed our time together, and I’m excited about the last couple of days here to hang out with each other.
