Doug - Day of Fun

Well it’s all over. Today was a bittersweet day. On one hand it was the day of fun and we all had a blast kayaking around, but on the other hand, we’re leaving in the morning and no one really knows if or when we will be back. The other tough thing to deal with is John and Rene’ stepping down. They have been unbelievable leaders for so many college students, and will be missed dearly.
Kayaking was fun, but for me the best part of the day came after dark, when we all went down to the beach for our final meeting as a group. Before a single word was spoken, emotions were running all over the place. John had the girls sit down spread out on the beach and had a guy sit in front of a girl, and then after praying for each other, the guys would move down to the next girl…the speed dating of prayer if you will. It was awesome, and so powerful! I think a lot of times we forget the power of prayer, but you could completely feel God’s presence on that beach. After we had finished praying for each other the guys paired up with guys and the girls with girls so we could pray for each other again. What a group of guys! I am going to miss St. John, but even more so, I am going to miss spending so much time with this amazing group. I hope all of our relationships continue to grow and strengthen, and that we would never forget all that has happened on this beautiful island. God is good!
