Today was the day we presented the plan of salvation to the children. I was completely in awe of how I had their attention throughout the entire story and ABC’s of becoming a Christian. Yesterday, they were pretty hyper, so I was a little worried because I was teaching today. I knew that the gospel was the most important thing that they could ever hear, so I really didn’t want to mess it up. I was so thankful that I felt like God spoke through me. The words I said were not my own. We had two children in the younger group that are now our brother and sister of Christ. Kyle got to pray with Ronald, and I got the opportunity to talk to Jayda. It was the first time I had ever gotten to pray that prayer with someone. She had a lot of questions, so we talked about those and I reviewed what we talked about in the lesson and took her through a lot of verses in Romans. I felt so humbled and blessed by this moment. Painting went great again. Our team lead another worship service at Cruz Bay. I love seeing our team work together always, but it is really a lot of fun to have members of our group leading together in worship. Doug and Jeff lead the music wonderfully, even if it was to a little different rhythm that most of the church was used to. Jared gave his testimony and spoke very eloquently about how his faith in Jesus has continued to grow as he figures out his specific place in this world. It was very inspiring. John rocked out another sermon and reminded us that WE are the SOMEONE that other people in this world might need to show the love of Christ to. After a FABULOUS dinner at Morgan’s Mango, my favorite dinner place on the island, we had another team meeting on the beach and prayer time for Jeff. Jeff has truly been such a significant figure to our group this year. It was like saying by to one of the family. I am very thankful he still got to come on the trip at all though. His humble leadership qualities bring the whole group together, and the Godliness he portrays in his actions and words rubs off on everyone. His sense of humor kept us laughing and his consistency is a personality trait that not many people have. He will be truly missed in the college ministry and on the remainder of this trip. Kyle, or outback Steve, told us girls a bedtime story before bed..haha and I think he is going to try again tomorrow. I really have also appreciated his sense of humor, work ethic, and friendship on this trip.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like your trip is overwhelmed by Christ's love, wisdom, compassion and grace. I continue to enjoy reading your journal entries. They remind me of how present the Lord should feel everyday, no matter where we are. I am so proud of all you are doing in St. John and am so very anxious to hear all about it when you return. I also continue to pray for you, and your groups', safety and aid in God's master plan.
I love you always,
J
Keep smiling. Trust Him. Praise Him. Love Him.
