Hunter - Day 3

The first day of VBS went extremely well. Decorating the night before helped tremendously. We had a total of 22 kids that attended. I signed up to help out the younger kids this year. It should be interesting to see the difference in teaching methods. Kyle Torti taught the lesson with an Australian accent. The voice was very convincing, which made the kids enjoy the lesson more. Jeff, Holly and Anna did a great job leading worship. The kids are really enjoying the VBS music this year. After VBS was over, we waited for instructions to paint the local parks and recreation building on the island. We arrived to be told to come back tomorrow to start. You know what that means…..afternoon at the beach!! Everyone loved being together in the water….laughing and having fun. We spent several hours at Hawk Nest. One the most gorgeous beaches in the world. Doug, Anna, Holly and I headed back early to prepare 40 balloons for John’s birthday. The balloons were put in John and Rene’s tent. Hilarious. Dinner was at the Lime Inn, one of my favorite places to eat on the island. We had a great time of fellowship at dinner. Once we arrived back at camp, everyone headed to the beach for nightly meeting. The moon provided a night lamp that shone down on us and the water. Each student gave three words to describe the day. My words were FELLOWSIP, ENTERTAINMENT and ASSURANCE. After that very spiritual moment, everyone roasted John on his birthday. Some gave epitaphs and eulogies. Some recounted old stories of when they first met the Cooks. This week is going to be very special. I cannot wait to see what God is going to do! Blessings.

  1. Hey Hunter,

I'm glad that you are on this trip! You'll do great with the younger kids, and I know you'll have the whole group laughing before the week is done.

I wanted to leave you with one of my favorite sciptures before tomorrow. You're all in my prayers!

-"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you,he will quiet you with his love,he will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)
