Hunter - Day 5
Well, we’re half way done with VBS at Cruz Bay Baptist. God showed up in a big. Holly delivered a very simple but powerful message of Salvation to the kids in our class. A total of 3 kids accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. I will not share their individual stories, but look at some of the other student’s journal entries. God provided a way for each child to hear and be impacted by our VBS. After lunch, we headed straight to the parks and recreation to paint again. There’s very little to be done, but everyone will return tomorrow to redo some trim and paint high atop building under the roof. We returned to Cruz Bay in the evening to lead prayer meeting with the congregation. The service flowed very smoothly. Probably the best service in two years, I have been coming to the island. Doug and Jeff led the service in song. Jared shared his testimony followed by Holly and Anna’s special music. The best part of the day for me was dinner. We ate at my favorite place on the island, Morgano’s Mango. I’ve looked forward to this place since we left last year. The grilled mahi mahi is phenomenal!!!!!! A very touching moment of the day was the group meeting on the beach. Everyone shared three words that described the day. Almost everyone mentioned Jeff Venable. He will be leaving us on Thursday to fulfill a job obligation. Further, he will be leaving the college ministry after this trip. We gather around and laid hands on him to pray. Jeff Venable is a great Man of God. He truly knows how to make someone feel special. Maybe, a quiet leader, but a loud voice for Jesus Christ. Thank you, Jeff. Keep praying for us this week. About this time, we become tired while performing VBS and other duties on this trip. Blessings.
