Hunter - Pre trip Journal

Memories flow through my mind from the college ministry’s 2008 trip to the island of St. John. Soon, a group of a dozen students will return for one last time to the island to minister and spread the Love of Jesus Christ. I remember several faces filled with smiles longing for our return. The students traveling this year are very dear to my heart. It makes the daily operations of a mission trip less intense when you’re with a great group of friends. A special pair of friends that radically changed my life is John and Rene Cook. The impact the Cooks have had on my life and St. John is irreplaceable. Most people believe taking a mission trip to exotic location is far from a definition of serving and evangelizing. WRONG! The island subconsciously longs for something to fill their lifestyle or current feelings. As we prepare to leave, pray to God that we will work hard to execute a thoughtful plan of Vacation Bible School for Cruz Bay Baptist Church. Also, pray that kids will attend these sessions and be transformed by our teachings along with actions every day. Blessings, HM
