I always look forward to going anywhere on missions, and the St. John trip is no exception. Most people (including my ethics professor I ran into the other day) think “Oh, what a great place to do missions – St. John”. While the island is beautiful and it’s an amazing place to be, we really do work there. I am looking forward to re-meeting all the kids I met last year and meeting new ones! I’m looking forward to playing gotcha with them on the blacktop or trying to ride their ripsticks – just having fun. VBS is going to be great, but I am really looking forward to hanging out with the day camp kids in the afternoon. I have no idea what to expect – painting or hanging or what, but I’m excited about it. I’m not really worried about anything on this trip, except for the fact that I will be very tired. My summer has been very crazy, and this is the last trip I am taking before school starts again. So, I guess I am looking for God to be revealed to me in one last unique way that *usually* only happens on trips like this for the summer. To be honest, I have been struggling all summer with my walk and being consistent and trusting in God, and that won’t change when I’m in St. John. I ask God to teach me to trust Him and to make me dependent upon Him for everything. So that’s what I would like for myself this week. Thanks to everyone who is reading these and praying for us – you are needed and greatly appreciated!
