Kyle - Day 6

Today was basically like all the other days this week but with a few differences. In the morning we had our VBS of course and it went pretty much like all the other days, between playing games with kids, teaching them lessons about the Bible, and just plain loving on them. After VBS though we were privileged to eat lunch at The Westin with the Lieutenant Governor of St John. We went over to The Westin (which had AC) and when we got there they had prepared a buffet for us. The food was absolutely awesome but it made us so tired from being full and completely cooled off. Our rest had to be short lived though as we had to go back to our project site and finish up a little bit of painting. The rest of the painting didn’t take all that long considering we only had the top trim of the building left to do. When we finished we went back to our site to clean up so that we could go to one last service at a church that is the sister church of the one we have been going to all week. It was a pretty awesome experience because when we worship with this church we actually felt like we were worshiping with the church rather than just putting on a show for them. John’s sermon was once again awesome and I just thank God for giving him such great things to say to everyone. After service we went out to eat at a Restaurant called Island Blues. It was a lot of fun but the best part was when Doug went up and sang at the open mike for about 4 songs. We had a lot of fun watching him perform for us and watch as everyone else there enjoyed themselves. When we got back to the camp site we had our meeting on the beach like usual but after this a few of us decided to take a night swim. It was pretty cold but at the same time it was a lot of fun just relaxing and hanging out with each other. Today was an awesome day and I thank God for allowing everything to run so smoothly. I pray that as we go about our day tomorrow on our last day that we really get through to the kids and show them what it’s like to be a Christian.
