Rene - Day 7

Although it was a somewhat difficult day—many goodbyes were said—it was probably one of my favorite days thus far. Today was all about food, in a sense.

Our group shared lunch with several kids from VBS who have been coming since we started having VBS 7 years ago. I really enjoyed that—I always feel a stronger sense of connection when sharing a meal with someone.

After we cleaned up the church our group headed back to Cinnamon Bay to change and hit the beach. I took a nap. A much needed nap. And much to my liking, we were invited to a family’s house for dinner and all I had to do was throw on a cover up and head out. I call it a great day when you can wear your swimsuit well into the evening—like oh, say, 10 p.m. But I digress. The food was wonderful (thanks Scott) as was the company. It was good to fellowship with other believers and to hear about what God is doing in and through their lives. After reconnecting with old friends and making some new ones, we headed back to the camp to call it a day. Tomorrow is the great day of fun.
